SAMPLING

AN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION
OF CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS CHOSEN IN
COLLABORATION WITH GALLERIES AROUND THE WORLD

MAY 15 – JULY 9

The Feldman Gallery will present a group exhibition of contemporary artists chosen in collaboration with galleries from around the world. The exhibition provides a sampling of new and provocative work by many artists, most of whom are unfamiliar to New York audiences.

The exhibition has been curated through a collaborative process. The Feldman Gallery selected galleries known to present difficult and challenging work. More than twenty-five galleries, both commercial and artist-run, were contacted from around the world, including Australia, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Iceland, India, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden, and Switzerland. Providing the opportunity to introduce their artists and their own institutions to New York, the Feldman Gallery invited the galleries to recommend new and exciting work that could be exhibited within the restraints of space, time, and finances. With more than one hundred proposals from which to choose, Martina Batan and Ronald Feldman then shaped an exhibition that provides a cutting edge view of contemporary art on an international level. The structure of the exhibition also honors the influence of visionary gallerists who identify and support new art forms.

There will be a reception on Saturday, May 15, from 6:00 – 8:00. Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Saturday, 10:00 – 6:00. Monday by appointment. July: Monday through Friday.
