FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sept. 25, 1987
Ida Applebroog
Exhibition Dates: Oct. 17-Nov. 14, 1987
Gallery Hours: Tues.-Sat., 10-6, Mon. by appt.
In 1977, Ida Applebroog distributed her first series of books through the mail. Since then, her repetitious scenes of daily life have broadened in scope and intensified in content. Her new paintings occupy a deeply permeated panoramic space in which potential paranoia and the absurd co-exist. The work becomes part of a dense, neraly opaque text with its own often contradictory realities.
This is Ida Applebroog?s fifth exhibition at Ronald Feldman Fine Arts. The public is invited to an opening reception for the artist on Saturday, October 17 from 5-7 p.m. For further information and photographs, please contact Susan Yung at (212)226-3232.
