Allan Wexler installed a permanent sculpture at the base of a wind turbine at Expo 2000 in Hannover, Germany. The shape is based on the shadow of the wind turbine at the moment of the summer solstice. The 240-long artwork, entitled In the Shadow of the Wind, is constructed of coal that was mined from an extinct near-by coal mine and embedded in concrete. Located in a farm field near a residential area, the work explores the environmental issues of wind energy and creates a community park by acting as table and seating for picknicking. A portfolio of unique screenprints by Andy Warhol entitled Ads, which was published by Ronald Feldman Fine Arts in 1985, is included in the Andy Warhol: A Factory exhibition at Guggenheim Museum Bilbao from October 18-January 13, 2000. The gallery also loaned a painting entitled Myths, which was commissioned at the same time as the Myths portfolio published by the gallery in 1981. The exhibition had previously been in the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg; Kunsthalle Wien; Palais des Beaux-Arts, Brussels. Travelled to Fundação de Serralves, Porto, Portugal, February 11-Mary 14, 2000; Guggenheim Museum, New York. There is a catalogue.

Alexander Brodsky has been selected by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust to create a public sculpture, Palazzo Nero, to be completed September 1999. The site-specific sculpture consists of a monumental, house-like structure, dramatically-lit, which encloses a pyramid mound of facade remnants from demolished Cultural District buildings.
